Kayaks
and Paddling Equipment
Ocean
Kayak
- Ocean Kayak was the first maker of the sit-on-top kayaks
and have been committed to kayak anglers since day one.
Their new Trident series is acknowledged as one of the most
innovative fishing kayaks on the market.
Necky
Kayaks
- Necky makes some of the finest sit-inside and touring
kayaks made. From their famous Chatham series of rough water
boats to their new Eliza - a women specific touring boat
- Necky is a name that inspires adventure and confidence.
Lendal
Paddles
- Lendal has been making some of the finest kayaking paddles
ever made. The problem? Their tiny factory in Scotland could
never turn out enough for Lendal to become known in the
U.S. But I have good news for you! They are now being made
in the U.S. with the same specs and models and are much
easier to get. My favorite is the Kinetic Touring blades
on a modified crank shaft. When I am really in the mood
to move, however, out come the Nordkapps!
Fishing
Tackle
Echo
Fly Rods
- Designed by casting legend Tim Rajeff, Echo fly rods are
not only powerful casting and fish fighting tools, but affordable
as well. My personal choice is the Echo 2 saltwater series.
They even come with an extra tip!
Airflo
Fly Lines
- Airflo Fly Lines have been a long time favorite of mine.
Unmatched for castability and durability (they are even
bug repellent resistant!) they are the perfect choice for
the kayak fly angler. Check out their Ridge Lines if you
are looking for that maximum distance we need here in the
salt!
Kayak
Fishing Shops
Silent
Sports
- A Silent Sport Outfitters in Nokomis, Florida (just south
of Sarasota) is one of the most well-stocked and helpful
kayak fishing stores in Florida. Hal and Mary have all those
hard to find little knick knacks that us kayak anglers are
always in need of, not to mention a great selection of rod
holders, fish bags, carts, etc all at the best prices around.
Destinations
The
Sun & Moon Inn
- This is one place that rarely needs an introduction. The
Sun & Moon Inn in Matlacha, FL is the premier kayak
fishing destination in Florida. The inn is not only close
to some of the best backcountry kayak fishing in the state,
but also a short paddle from numerous bars and restaurants,
making it the ideal weekend getaway. Featured in "Kayak
Fishing GAME ON", "The Dollarwise Fly", and
many other fishing shows and publications, this is one of
those "you gotta go" places. Say hello to Curt!

- A lot of the music heard on many of my kayak fishing videos
was written and performed by Art Linton. A highly regarded
singer/songwriter from Decatur, GA, Art has many recordings
available for sale on the web. His MySpace page is a good

musician.
